Why I Added Drawing Back To My Short List Of Hobbies

In addition to music production, I also got back into art, specifically sketching.

I remember I used to do it quite often several years ago.

Back when I worked in Burger King, I would spend my break sitting with one of my co-worker’s boyfriend and drawing with him.

Fun times.

Then I stopped when I left the place and became busy with college work and internships.

Then on the week of Halloween, I was on a call with a friend and she suggested that we should try replicating one of the drawings done by one of our mutual friends, who’s a talented artist.

And so we did that, and showed him what we came up with.

When he saw mine and gave his feedback, I was shocked.

He said it wasn’t bad, which got me thinking, maybe I should keep going with this. After all, his feedback meant a lot to me.

And so we kept drawing. We mainly stuck to drawing people and shared our drawings with each other.

At one point, my friend said something interesting.

“You know, this is a really nice way to see people’s different art styles.”

It sounds like an ordinary sentence, but it made me realize that I have a lot more freedom to draw the way I want than I give myself.

I don’t necessarily have to make my drawings completely identical to the pictures I’m referring to. I can add my own twists to them.

That’s also a secret to carry over to email copywriting. Making your emails perfect should be the least of your worries.

In fact, it shouldn’t even be a worry in the first place.

It won’t do you anything except slow you down and make your writing experience a lot less fun.

Keep that in mind when the next time you write your emails, especially if you use my email writing methods taught in How to Become an Email Titan.

What? You’re not familiar with my methods?
